Been seeing a lot of photos on Facebook lately with the hash tag #100HappyDays. For those who don’t know and have noticed a lot of #100HappyDays Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, it is as a result of a social media campaign challenging people to be happy 100 day in a row. In a nutshell, if you choose to accept this challenge, everyday, when something makes you happy, you’re supposed to take a picture and submit it.
In this hectic fast paced world we live in these days, it’s really easy to get lost in it all, so I really found myself appreciating this concept and decided to take up this challenge on my own. Each day, if something made me happy, I would note it down or tell my wife. After a few days however, I realised that there really is no need to continue this challenge at all as in my own family, there is always something that will make me happy, smile and laugh no matter how bad the day has been.
At the end of it all, I realised there’s usually always something that makes us happy during a 24 hour day (it’s actually longer than it feels). This campaign has reminded me to stop, look for it and appreciate it. If your daily life seems to be non-stop with no time at all, do take up this challenge, because if anything, it might just remind you to slow down and appreciate certain things in your life.
